Founded with the heart to serve and empower those who may feel overlooked by traditional education systems, VTTC offers a gateway into the growing healthcare field through accessible, hands-on, and industry-aligned training programs. We proudly partner with the American Heart Association to offer CPR/BLS training and certification as part of our curriculum, ensuring our students are well-rounded and job-ready.

We prepare Phlebotomist, to stay Phlebotomist with three certifications in one! Our Extensive Phlebotomy Training prepares the student to draw blood, collect urine specimen for The Department of Transportation, and how to use a breathalyzer so they can also present themselves as a Certified Breath Alcohol Technician. We also included oral and nasal specimen collection in our curriculum so our students will be knowledgeable on nasal (COVID tasting), throat(Strep testing) and cheek swabs (DNA testing).

About Our President
Margaret Jade Lee, RMA-CPT has over 11 years of experience in the field of phlebotomy. Like many new graduates, she faced significant challenges entering the profession without prior experience, as employers often sought candidates with extensive, proven skills. Despite these early obstacles, her passion for healthcare and dedication to patient care never wavered.
Margaret began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in home health before returning to school in 2018 to earn her credentials as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA-CPT). She went on to secure a position in urology, where she gained valuable experience in phlebotomy, vital sign collection, and direct physician support. Seeking broader clinical expertise, she later joined the PRN pool at two hospitals, where she worked across multiple specialties including OB/GYN, primary care, occupational health, and oncology.
In 2021, Margaret founded VieGenix Laboratory Services, driven by her commitment to providing quality laboratory care and her strong foundation in phlebotomy. The following year, she expanded her vision by opening the company’s first brick-and-mortar location. Recognizing the rising demand for mobile phlebotomy services, she launched VieGenix Mobiles, offering mobile blood collection and DOT drug testing throughout South Carolina and North Carolina.
Her dedication to excellence and innovation did not stop there. After being informed by a corporate partner that she was the only mobile phlebotomist available within a 100-mile radius in South Carolina, Margaret identified a critical workforce gap. In response, she established the VieGenix Technical Training Center, an institution designed to prepare well-rounded, highly skilled phlebotomists to meet the growing demands of the healthcare industry.
Margaret’s journey demonstrates the perseverance, leadership, and vision required to succeed in healthcare entrepreneurship. Today, through VieGenix, she remains committed to advancing laboratory services, expanding access to care, and training the next generation of phlebotomy professionals.

The Vanessa B. Owens Scholarship
This institution stands on the shoulders of a woman whose life, though brief, left an enduring mark.
Vanessa B. Owens was a devoted Clinical Laboratory Scientist, a mother, and a woman of quiet strength and profound faith. Her love, example, and unwavering belief in education, service and excellence continue to guide every decision, every step and every student at VTTC.
To honor her legacy, VTTC proudly introduces the Vanessa B. Owens Scholarships, awarded annually to deserving high school seniors in South Carolina and, as we grow, in every state we reach. These scholarships are not just financial gifts — they are seeds planted in her memory, to grow futures as bright and as far as the students are willingly to go.
May her light continue to shine through the success of every student who walks through our doors.
